I hope everyone is enjoying summer. The busy autumn schedule and High Holidays are going to be here soon. Everyone at Temple is working hard over the summer to get ready for the new school year. A lot of great new ideas are in the works for our Temple Religious School this fall. Keep an eye out for the details. The board welcomes you to get involved to make our school the best it can be.

Rabbi Schadick has just completed his fifth year as spiritual leader of our congregation. He came to our synagogue with a great deal of energy and creativity. He continues to challenge the lay leadership to be progressive and look to the future. In June, the Board of Trustees honored him with an Oneg Shabbat and he responded in kind at the service by announcing that he would be honored and would very much like to continue on as our Rabbi after next year when his contract is up for renewal. The Officers and Board of Trustees of our synagogue have agreed to pursue conversations over the next year to work towards an agreement that is good for the well being of our congregation. The board is excited about continuing its partnership with Rabbi to enhance our Temple programs and continue to build on the foundation he has initiated. One of the goals of our lay leadership over the next year is to increase the level of commitment and activities of our committees. Each of our Temple committees has challenges to meet. The board and committee chairs will be working diligently over the next few months to encourage everyone to be involved and to contribute to Temple, not just financially, but with time and energy. If you have a special interest and would like to become part of the team, please contact me and I will put you in contact with the committee chair. Everyone has a busy life and the more members who contribute the smaller the task becomes. Thanks in advance to all of you who are willing to step up to the challenge to help make our synagogue the best it can be.
